Dick Barrett joined Environmental Energy Technologies in October 2007 as General Manager of Emissions Systems. Dick's responsibilities include product design and development, prototyping and validating, testing and certification, strategy, customer interface, and all other leadership necessary to achieve successful commercial introduction of the Diesel Emissions product line.
Dick is a graduate of Clarkson College of Technology with a degree in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering. He has a strong background and hobby interest in automobiles. He began his career as a manufacturing engineer at Eastman Kodak in high volume camera manufacturing and held positions in strategic planning, development engineering, and product line management. He was the development manager for Electronic Image Capture Products, where his group commercialized Kodak's first high end digital camera products. Under Dick's leadership, his group delivered 12 new award winning products in four years. Dick then went on to lead Kodak Optics Operations Group with three lines of business and 150 employees in the U.S. and Europe through a period of growth.
In 2000, Dick became General Manager of a multi-million dollar hi-tech instrument company in Pittsford, New York. Under Dick's leadership, they developed and commercialized 14 new high tech products in five years. Dick led the company through a period of profitable growth and the maturing of the company's processes. During this period the company developed the strategy that resulted in a diversification of their product line, the expansion into new domestic markets, the doubling of foreign sales, and a significant increase in revenue per employee.
Dick is on the Board of Directors of Shantz Associates Inc. and Literacy Volunteers of Rochester. He is a 2007 graduate of the Leadership Rochester Program.
