Bob joined Environmental Energy Technologies in May 2008 as Vice President Business Development, where his primary responsibility is to develop Angel Network and Venture Capital investor contacts, prepare investor-oriented materials, including business plans, presentations, capital and financing plans, negotiate deal structure, and investor follow up.
Bob holds a BS degree in Chemistry from St. John Fisher College, a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from The University of Illinois, and completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School. He has >50 years experience in the field of research, R&D management, innovation management, and technology commercialization, both in large and small company environments.
Bob spent 35 years with Eastman Kodak Company in a number of progressive technical and management positions, including Director of the Research Labs Color Photography Division and subsequently the newly formed Color Instant Photography Division; Assistant Director of Research; and Director, New Opportunity Development. In the latter position, he organized and managed Kodaks worldwide corporate innovation and new venture program, which led to the commercialization of over 150 new products, processes, and businesses, including 14 corporate start-ups created outside the business unit structure.
Bob played a key role as Kodak Loaned Executive in the creation and organization of High Technology of Rochester, a community business incubation program. He subsequently co-founded Innovation Strategy Group, Inc., which helped >25 worldwide clients develop the strategies, processes, infrastructure, and climate required to implement and sustain organic growth.
Bob holds 9 US patents on color photographic process and systems, and has 13 publications in the fields of color photography, image recording processes/ systems, technology management, and innovation practice. He has also made several presentations, and has participated in seminars, workshops, and discussion panels on the subject of technology-based innovation.
Bob is an Emeritus member of the American Chemical Society and serves on the American Management Associations Technology, Innovation, and Manufacturing Management Council. He previously served on the Review Board of the Strategic Defense Initiative Organizations Office of Technology Applications and the New York State Science & Technology Foundations R&D Grant Committee.
Bob enjoys reading, grandchildren, golf, and, boating and serves as Treasurer on the Board of his local Homeowners Association.
