Dr. YU is a consultant to EET in the fields of Renewable Energy and Thermal Engineering Systems. He was a Distinguished Professor at Beijing Polytechnic University and a Chief Scientist at Joint Lab on Solar Energy of CAS-IET/HSE in Beijing, China.

Dr. YU received his Ph.D. in Thermal Engineering Systems from Kyushu University in Japan. He holds a B.Eng. in Thermal Engineering from Tsinghua University and M.S. in Thermal Engineering from Beijing Polytechnic University in China. He also spent five years at Kyushu University as Research Associate and Associate professor from 1995 to 2000. Dr. YU specializes in boiling/condensation heat transfer, enhancement heat transfer, electronic cooling, heat pump systems and fluid dynamics. His other projects in China were related to geothermal heat pump systems, solar heat pump system, electronic cooling, fuel cell, thermal storage, and enhancement boiling/condensation heat transfer. He has published over 40 conference and journal papers on the above research areas. He is the member of CSTE, JSME, and ASME.
